Ichigo Kurosaki
Ichigo Kurosaki is a rough-and-tumble teenager who has always had the special ability to see ghosts. The story begins with the sudden appearance of an oddly-dressed stranger in Ichigo's bedroom. This stranger is the shinigami Rukia Kuchiki, who is surprised at his ability to see her. Their resulting conversation is interrupted by the appearance of a hollow, an evil spirit. After Rukia is severely wounded during battle, she decides to transfer half of her powers to Ichigo, hoping to give him the opportunity to face the hollow on an equal footing. For unknown reasons, however, Ichigo absorbs all of Rukia's powers during the attempt, allowing him to defeat the hollow with ease.
Rukia Kuchiki
Rukia Kuchiki ( Kuchiki Rukia) is a major character in the manga and anime series Bleach, by Tite Kubo. Rukia is a shinigami. She meets Ichigo Kurosaki, an everyday high school student, and through a set of circumstances, he obtains her powers, forcing her to take up residence in his home and him to take her place as a shinigami.
Orihime Inoue
Orihime Inoue ( Inoue Orihime) is a major character in the anime and manga series Bleach. A student of Karakura High, she is a classmate and friend of Ichigo Kurosaki, the protagonist of the series. Like many other friends of Ichigo, she quickly develops spiritual powers of her own after Ichigo becomes a shinigami [2].
Yasutora Sado
Yasutora Sado ( Sado Yasutora) is a major character of the anime and manga series Bleach. He is a teenager who studies in the same class as Ichigo Kurosaki. Yasutora is better known as Chad, mainly because the first character in his name (?) is almost always read as cha (meaning tea). He sometimes carries a nametag so most assume his name is Chado (Chad).
Uryu Ishida
Uryu Ishida ( Ishida Uryu) is a major character in the anime and manga series Bleach. He is a classmate of main character Ichigo Kurosaki. He is introduced as the last Quincy.
